Just opened Hottomotto is one of Japan’s most popular bento box outlets. It is pretty much the Japanese lunch box. So versatile and so many delicious and nutritious options to choose. 14 choices! You can enjoy it by dining in, take it away to a nice outdoor location or dare I say it, if you are under the pump at work you can eat it at your desk.
The bento is made up of rice, tasty potato salad, picked vegetables as standard, topped with your choice of savoury topping. Don’t worry if you are not familiar with Japanese food, the food at Hottomoto is very approachable and the majority is cooked. Infact they do a Japanese version of pork schnitzel called the Katsu which is great with their mild curry sauce. They tell us the products are imported from Japan to keep the flavour the same.
Another familiar option is the karage chicken, which is Japanese fried chicken. They also do a Japanese omelette and salad. Another favourite is the teriyaki: chicken or beef
If you have worked up an appetite, the premium bento’s known as makunouchi are the pick. Full of well Japanese gems like eel, delicious sukiyaki grilled wagyu beef, tempura as well as grilled fish and fried prawn all in one box.
Convenient with authentic approachable Japanese flavours Hotto-Motto bento for eating on the go.
