Peking Square for Banquets and Yum Cha @Bankstown Sports

Bankstown sports offers a great dining experience, and their latest addition – Peking Square did not disappoint. A large restaurant space decorated to theme, with red lanters hanging from the roof. There are a number of themed private dining areas too, you can dine in the Hong Kong room for instance. The walls displaying the cityscape of Hong Kong. We were visiting in a group and were seated in one of the private dining areas. In the centre of the room was a large round table that accommodated a group of 14.

What was ahead of us was amazing hospitality and a banquet fit for a king.
To start this amazing feast, the peking duck pancakes, always a favourite. Then another classic: the peking duck sang choy bow. Crisp lettuce cups with a tasty peking duck filling.

Then the table was full of delight with the next offerings arriving. The Peking square fried rice was provided to accomodate a delicious assortment of meals including; The mouth watering crispy Shandong chicken thinly sliced served with a flavoursome soya, garlic and chilli. The succulent 7 score wagyu beef fillet sauteed with cashews and kung pao sauce. Vegetarians do not despair, the buddha’s vegetarian delight was a spectacle: a birds nest of crisp noodles filled a medley of crisp sauteed vegetables.

All dishes were the goods, but there was a clear stand out and that was the wok tossed lobster tails cooked in a fermented sauce similar to singapore chilli sauce. This was served with the ridiculously good mantou which are similar to a doughnut and are perfect for soaking up any remaining sauce.

When dining in a restaurant that does yum cha, the mango pancakes are a must. What a way to finish this amazing dining experience.

Thanks to Peking Sq for the great service and hospitality, thanks Zomato for bringing us back to Bankstown Sports and for helping us experience their culinary delights of their great dining pecinct.
